An action-packed night February 2nd at Mr. T's Bowl in Highland Park.
Bauble was a fat old Chihuahua/pug mix (pughuahua) and a dear friend. Chuckles (the internationally known dog lover/sitter) and Bauble were eating the pup's favorite rotisserie chicken together while Bauble's owner, Kahni, was honeymooning in Mexico. Chuck stepped out and left a note on the door warning her houseguest Britney that Bauble was inside, but Bauble made an end-run around him and bolted outside for her familiar patch of lawn. Britney chased her, and she freaked and ran into the street where a murderous car just happened to be passing by. He rushed her to the emergency room, totaled his car on the way, got a ride, and, long-harrowing-story-shorter, Bauble had a five grand surgery and didn't make it.
Now Bauble is in the ground, Chuckles is in the hole for $5,000, and Britney is on foot. In order to make something good come of all this mess, we've assembled an all-star line-up for
BENEFIT FOR BAUBLE – A DEAD DOG
(We only know how to do it doggy style.).
Join us as WOODPUSSY (in their first performance in almost a year) performs with some sort of "dog heaven", or "doggy-door" theme, THE MORMONS throw down backpack punk rock, 1976 delivers good old rock 'n roll, KILL WHITEY (nice Jewish rappers with such swell songs as "butter them biscuits") drops
hardcore, suburban rhymes on ass-white audiences, MARK MILLER lights his guitar on fire with blues, JODY HUGHES sings like a robot (maybe dressed as an alien, a fat man, or a scuba-diver), and JOEY CHEEZEE treats us special, singing his very emotional rendition of "Mr. Bojangles" (sans roller blades this evening).
You can have your picture taken with a variety of taxidermy, purchase cheap dead dog art at the auction (featuring art by BUNNY BOY and others). D.J. BOSS MOSS will play doggy songs. CHUCKLES will also present some art-embellished dog slides featuring pound puppies.
Cost is $7 and proceeds will benefit vet bills and a new vehicle for Britney. The show starts around 8 PM (since it's quite overbooked), and we encourage you to come early. First 25 folks get a FREE dead dog t-shirt.
